The Centre for Research, Education, and Social Services (CRESS Centre) is a non-profit organization registered under the Societies Act of the Government of Alberta, Canada in 2023 by a group of dedicated experts and community leaders with a vision of becoming a centre of excellence by bringing research, education, and social development together to meaningfully transform the lives of citizens.
It has been recognized that many non-profit organizations support vulnerable populations through programs and services that are often designed using a top-down approach. As a result, these programs may not fully meet the needs or expectations of the communities they serve.
One of the core values of CRESS Centre is to follow a bottom-up approach by integrating research into the design and refinement of its programs and services. The Centre’s leaders bring extensive local and global expertise and experience, having demonstrated impact in their previous work. Building on this strength, CRESS will collaborate with existing non-profit organizations and government bodies to enhance programming and contribute expertise, while continuing to work toward becoming a recognized centre of excellence through its own initiatives.
