Kids and Families with Confidence (KFC)

Kids and Families with Confidence (KFC) is funded by the Genesis Centre (Genesis Centre – Sports | Events | Programs | NE Calgary). The project aims to enhance the social inclusion of at-risk children and youth from racialized communities by engaging them in activities that reduce screen time, develop leadership and life skills, and strengthen social connections.

Parents are also provided with information and learning opportunities to support their understanding of child and youth development, increasing their confidence and capacity in parenting.

The activities under KFC include:

  • Home Alone Safety Training (HAST)
  • Guided multicultural arts and crafts sessions

These activities are open to the public, and participants are enrolled through a registration process.
