The Social Inclusion project is funded by the New Horizons for Seniors Program of the Government of Canada and the United Way of Calgary and Area. It aims to reduce barriers to social connection and address social isolation among seniors through community engagement activities.
The program includes conversation sessions, community gardening, exposure tours, and intercultural interactions.
Educational and awareness sessions are also provided on topics such as elder abuse and fraud prevention, mental health, and healthy aging. In addition, a senior resource kit is developed, translated into multiple languages, and distributed to seniors across participating communities.
